Tamil Nadu Dam Levels Today: Check Water Level In Mettur, Papanasam On May 30

The water level in Mettur Dam is rising as Kabini Dam in Karnataka has started releasing water, with 5,000 cusecs being discharged toward Tamil Nadu's Mettur Dam.

The current inflow into Mettur stands at 3,248 cusecs, while the outflow remains at 1,000 cusecs to meet irrigation demands.

Present Storage: 81,705 Mcft

With the southwest monsoon bringing heavy rains to Kerala and Karnataka, inflows into Mettur Dam have surged in recent days. However, rainfall is expected to gradually decrease in the catchment areas and stop entirely by June 5.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, as the dam could reach its full capacity before the scheduled opening date of June 12. If the trend continues, an early release for irrigation may be considered.
