He stated that tThe voices "emerging from our deliberations transcend political boundaries, embodying the concerns of citizens from diverse regions who seek fair representation in our parliamentary democracy."
Stalin's Message To Telugu and Kannada Speaking People
Days ago, Stalin, in his Ugadi wishes, urged the Telugu and Kannada-speaking people join forces against delimitation.
He said, "In the face of growing linguistic and political threats like Hindi imposition and delimitation, the need for southern unity has never been greater. We must come together and defeat every attempt to undermine our rights and identity." "May this Ugadi kindle the spirit of resistance and solidarity that binds us together," he added.
Apart from the Hindi imposition row, the ruling Tamil Nadu government has locked horns with the Centre over the delimitation issue and has conducted Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting, last month. Later, he wrote to the chief ministers of West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, and Punjab, to extend their support to the cause.
The DMK has expressed concern over the proposed delimitation claiming that it will reshape the country's power map, reducing the political might of southern states at the Centre. However, political observers see his attempt to unite the south states as a move to build an advantage for the DMK ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu polls.
