TN Class 12 Exam Results: The teachers who are part of the evaluation process for Plus 2 or Class 12 students in Tamil Nadu have sought an additional holiday on April 19.
The additional holiday will help them to travel to their natives. In March, The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) successfully conducted the Class 12 board exams. It was held between March 3 to 25, 2025, with over 8 lakh students appearing across 3,316 examination centers in the state.

Tamil Nadu Holiday: TN Class 12 Exam Evaluators Seek Extended Good Friday Holiday
Currently, the answer sheet evaluation process for Plus 2 students is underway, having begun on April 4. However, with Good Friday on April 18 and Easter on April 20, post-graduate teachers have requested the Examination Department to declare a holiday on April 19 to accommodate travel plans for those returning to their hometowns for the festivities.
As per the Tamil Nadu government's holiday list for 2025, only April 18 is a holiday. However, the education department is yet to respond to the request. The Tamil Nadu government is usually flexible when it comes to leaves and it is evident during Deepavali and Pongal as the government give extended holidays.
Earlier this year, the government granted January 17 (Friday) an additional holiday, enabling people to enjoy a longer celebration and spend time with their loved ones in their hometowns for Pongal festival. However, to compensate, Saturday (January 25) was made a working day for all government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and educational institutions.
Last year, the Diwali holiday for schools and educational institutions in Tamil Nadu was extended, with the state government announcing a half-day holiday on October 30, in addition to the previously declared holidays on October 31 and November 1.
The results is likely to be out on May 9.
