Tamil Nadu Class 12 Board Exam Result: Over 8 Lakh Students Eagerly Await HSE +2 Result Date Announcement

Over 8 lakh students are awaiting the results of Class 12 or HSE+2 exams conducted in Tamil Nadu in March.

The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), which is responsible for conducting public exams, is gearing up to announce the Class 12 board exam results for the year 2025. This year, exams were held between March 3 and 25 across the state.

A total of 8,02,568 students from 7,518 higher secondary schools registered for the Class 12 public exams, according to data from the School Education Department. Among them, 11,430 students were absent for the first subject, mostly Tamil. The cohort also included 18,344 private candidates and 145 jail inmates, reflecting the inclusive nature of the examination process.

The exams were held at 3,316 centres statewide, with key participation numbers from districts such as Tirunelveli (19,816 students), Tenkasi (16,961), Kanniyakumari (22,461), and Thoothukudi (19,496).

The exams started at sharp 10 am and the first 10 minutes were given to students to read the question paper. The next five minutes for verifying candidate details. The students had time till 1 pm to complete their papers.

In order to conduct exams fair from any malpractices, the DGE has deployed 4800 flying squads whose duty was to monitor exam centers.

When WIll The Class 12 Results Be Released Online?

It is reported that the results will be out on May 9. It means 10 days to go for the D Day.

Where and How to Check the TN 12th Result?

Once declared, students can access their results on the official DGE websites:

dge.tn.gov.in

To check their marks, students need to enter their registration number and date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format. The results can also be downloaded in PDF format for future reference.

Students can also get their results through SMS. They need to send a text in the format:
TNBOARD12 to the official number (to be confirmed by DGE in their upcoming notification).

A Look Back at 2024

In 2024, the Class 12 exams were conducted from March 1 to 22, with results declared on May 6. A total of 7,60,606 students took the exams, achieving an impressive overall pass percentage of 94.56%. Girls outperformed boys with a 96.44% pass rate, compared to 92.37% among boys.

Usually, the supplementary exams for those who did not pass were are from June and July.
