Tamil Nadu: 6 Dead As Car Rams Into Truck After Driver Falls Asleep

In a tragic accident, on Sunday, six people lost their lives after a car collided with a truck in southern Tamil Nadu, according to the reports. The reports said that a high-speed truck loaded with cement bags collided head-on with a car, whose driver fell asleep while driving, causing the saddening incident in Pulliyangudi.

The police identified the deceased as Karthik, Vel Manoj, Subramani, Manoharan, and Pothiraj, who died on the spot after the accident. While one person succumbed to injuries midway when he was being transported to the hospital.

After being informed by the locals, the Police and fire brigade reached the spot swiftly to help the victims.
As per the police report, the accident happened at around 3:30 am.

Following the procedure, police registered a case to investigate the exact reason for the accident, and transferred dead bodies to the Tirunelveli government hospital for autopsy.

"Six people were killed in a road accident as a result of a collision between a cement lorry and a car near Pulliyangudi in Tenkasi district. The probe is underway," ANI quoted a police officer.

In another similar accident case that happened on January 24, four people died and eight got severely injured near Thoppur Ghat Road in Tamil Nadu's Dharmapuri district. The visuals that Tamil Nadu collected from the CCTV cameras installed near the accident spot showed how a speeding truck rammed into another truck to claim 4 lives.
