Summer Holidays In Tamil Nadu: When Will Summer Vacation For Schools Begin For Class 10, 11, 12?

The summer vacation for schools in Tamil Nadu in 2024 will start from March and April. The holidays for class 10 (SSLC), Class 11 (HSE First Year) and Class 12 (HSE Second Year) will commence after the conclusion of the final examination.

While dates for each schools might vary, usually the schools will declare holidays once the main examinations are over. For classes 1-10, schools declare holidays from April-May end.

Tamil Nadu Examination Schedule For Class 10, 11, 12

The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, will conduct the Class 12 board exams between March 3 and March 25. The exams for major subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Commerce, and Humanities, will be conducted on different dates.

Similarly, the Class 11 exams are scheduled from March 5 to March 27, with subjects covering Science, Arts, and Vocational streams. It has to be noted that both Class 11 and 12 students had their practical exams in February 2025.

For Class 10 (SSLC) students, the board exams will commence on March 28 and conclude on April 15. The exams will cover key subjects, including language, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. Also, practical exams for vocational subjects in Class 10 will be conducted before the written exams.

Practical exams for Classes 11 and 12 took place in early February 2025. However, for any updates or changes to the timetable, students are advised to check the official DGE Tamil Nadu website regularly.
