Stay Safe Chennai: Mumbai Indians Pour Love After Cyclone Michaung Disturbs Lives
Indian Premier League (IPL) top franchise Mumbai Indian on Monday comes out in support of the people of Chennai, who are facing a really hard time due to the continuous downpour. The reason behind heavy rain and strong winds is Cyclone Michaung which has affected almost the entire Southern India. "Sending love & strength to Chennai 💙 #OneFamily #ChennaiRains," reads the tweet from Mumbai Indians.
In just a few minutes, the post praying for people's well-being garnered hundreds of shares. An umbrella in the thunderstorm can be seen in the post shared by Mumbai Indians which signifies Mumbai's support to Chennai stating "Stay Safe Chennai".

According to the reports, the cyclone has largely affected the lives of the people of Chennai as water logging led to the breaking down of power in many areas for hours now. Many people were left stranded as roads were flooded with water. A large number of trains and flights were canceled because of the extreme weather.

The state government, which is trying its best to provide help to the people, has also started boat service through the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF). According to the reports, more than 1000 water pumps have been set up across the city to clear the water-logging.
KN Nehru, Municipal administration and water supply minister said, "The city (Chennai) is seeing rains worse than what it saw in 70-80 years. Hence, the measures taken for cyclone mitigation have been caught off-guard."
According to the latest updates, Cyclone Michaung was positioned at 110km east-northeast of Chennai and has caused massive destruction in Chennai and its neighboring districts of Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengelpet.
