Sarath Kumar Predicts BJP-Led NDA Will Win These Number Of LS Seats In Tamil Nadu

Actor and Samathuva Makkal Katchi founder R Sarath Kumar, who has joined hands with the BJP, has predicted that the BJP-led NDA will win 10 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu.

Although he is yet to hit the campaign trail, the Samathuva Makkal Katchi leader believes that the people of Tamil Nadu have trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to India Today, he said, "Parties earlier with AIADMK are moving towards BJP for alliance due to the trust in PM Modi. My gut feeling says NDA will have more than 10 seats in Tamil Nadu."

Sarath Kumar on Monday met state BJP chief K Annamalai to hold a discussion on seat allocations.

After the meeting, Sarath Kumar mentioned that the specifics regarding the number of seats and constituencies would be disclosed within the next couple of days. Tamilaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam leader John Pandian informed reporters that he had requested a Lok Sabha seat and a Rajya Sabha seat, submitting a wishlist comprising three constituencies.

However, the final decision on the constituencies will be made after discussions with other parties.

In the recent past, several surveys had indicated a massive rise in the BJP's vote share in Tamil Nadu. The saffron party, which had received just over 3 per cent votes in 2019, is forecast to get around 20 per cent votes, higher than even the established AIADMK.

The massive rise in its vote share is attributed to K Annamalai's 'yatra' and Prime Minister Modi's image.
