Revolution in government schools in just 2 years of reign – Salem stands witness to the unachievable!
An article about the CM Stalin's Breakfast scheme in a journal has kindled ruckus across Tamil Nadu and CM Stalin also condemned it in his twitter page. Breakfast scheme was one of the schemes which was welcomed by all, irrespective of their political parties, so it was unexpected to see such negative news.
Even after the publication of the negative news, Telangana officials came to Tamil Nadu to analyse the Breakfast scheme. This is proof for the fact that the popularity of the scheme extended beyond Tamil Nadu and reached other states also. Breakfast scheme was welcomed by all sections of the society including students, parents and teachers. The scheme has been recently expanded to cover 17 lakh students who will be provided with breakfast in schools.

Within 2 years of DMK reign, government schools have undergone an exponential shift and a testimony to that is Periyaseeragapadi Municipal Middle school, Salem district. Veerapandi Union Secretary Vennila Sekar said, "Totally there are 64 schools functioning in Veerapandi Union. Out of the 64 schools, Periyaseeragapadi Municipal Middle school is the exceptional one because of the renovation done under the Dravidian model of government."
She continued, "The renovation not just made the school exceptional, it also increased the student enrolment ratio. Additionally the breakfast scheme also contributed to the increasing number. Owing to the scheme, the problem of malnutrition and enrolment are addressed simultaneously."

According to the Veerapandi Union Regional Educational officer Anbazhagan, in DMK's reign, basic amenities have been ensured to all students studying in government schools. Examples include, the provision of sports equipment, development of computer operational skills and self-defence skills etc.
Apart from this, incentives are given to STs, SCs, MBCs and other minority children, for the pursuit of education. Additionally, the government is depositing 75000 rupees in the name of children who lost their parents in accidents which is done to ensure continuation of studies atleast till 12th standard.

Anbazhagan, the Regional Education Officer said, "...all these facilities are specific to Tamil Nadu's government schools and cannot be seen in any other states which makes the residents of Tamil Nadu to turn their attention to government schools."
Principal of Periyaseeragapadi School said, "The school has been selected for the Dream school project. The classrooms have been renovated; a new bicycle stand and toilets have been constructed in the school which made the school exceptional."

Athanurpatti Panchayat Union President said, "Athanurpatti village consists of approximately 5000 residents, out of which 1000 are youngsters. Till now, the youngsters in our village do not have a playground for practice which was brought to the knowledge of the government. The government accepting the request allotted more than 1.5 acres of land and a stadium was set up which contains separate grounds for football, volleyball, basketball and a net facility for cricket etc."
Apart from Athanurpatti village, stadiums have been set up in 385 other villages in just 2 years of DMK reign!
