Pre-Poll Survey: Annamalai-Led BJP Set to Surprise AIADMK In Tamil Nadu? Here's What This Opinion Poll Claims
The Tamil Nadu elections, which have always been fiercely fought by the DMK and the AIADMK, will witness a three-way contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with the rise of the BJP under the leadership of BJP state President K Annamalai, as per a survey.
As per the Federal-Puthiyathalaimurai-Apt 2024 Pre-Poll Survey, the DMK will win the highest number of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, but the most astonishing part of the story is that the rise of the BJP.

The saffron party, which had failed to open its account in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, is predicted to win around 4 seats. More importantly, it is securing more votes than the established AIADMK party.
According to the survey, the BJP is expected to see an increase of 18.48 per cent in its vote share, reaching 3.71 per cent. Conversely, the AIADMK, with its previous 18.72 per cent vote share, is projected to receive 17.26 per cent of the votes.
However, the AIADMK is predicted to get around 6 seats, despite getting a lesser vote share than its former ally BJP.
Key Findings
- In the South Zone, the DMK maintains a commanding lead with over 37 percent of the vote, trailed by the BJP at 19.5 percent and the AIADMK at 12.5 percent.
- In West Zone, the DMK holds a slight edge with just over 31 percent of the vote. The BJP is predicted to get 22 percent vote share followed by the AIADMK at 21.4 per cent.
- In the Central Zone, the DMK secures a significantly higher vote-share of 46 percent, leaving its arch-rival AIADMK trailing at 20.3 per cent, with the BJP following at 11 per cent.
- In the North Zone, traditionally a stronghold for the DMK, the party maintains its dominance with a 35.5 percent vote-share. The AIADMK follows at 20 per cent, with the BJP trailing closely behind at 18 percent.
- In Chennai, another stronghold for the DMK, the party continues its strong performance with a projected vote-share of nearly 47 percent. The BJP secures the second position, with almost 22 per cent, while the AIADMK trails with a 10.4 per cent vote-share.

Recently, the Times Now-Matrize News survey claims that the ruling DMK or the INDIA bloc will secure 59.7 per cent votes while the BJP takes the second position by garnering 20.4 per cent votes.
The AIADMK is being pushed to third place as it secures 16.3 per cent votes followed by others(3.6 per cent votes)
Even poll strategist Prashant Kishor has predicted the BJP to cross double-digit vote share in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
