Prashant Kishor Meets Actor-Politician Vijay In Chennai

Renowned election strategist Prashant Kishor, who has now entered electoral politics with his own political party, Jan Suraj, in Bihar, recently met actor turned politician and chief of TVK, Vijay in Chennai. According to the reports, Prashant Kishor assured Vijay of his "support and guidance" for TVK's victory in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

Kishor initially gained prominence in South Indian politics by advising DMK during their successful 2021 assembly election campaign. This victory marked DMK's return to power after ten years. His experience is now being shared with actor-turned-politician Vijay Kumar as they strategise for upcoming challenges.

A source familiar with the developments mentioned that "The meeting was very cordial. Kishor shared his experience in strategy." It was also noted that there will be no formal technical agreements made regarding Kishor's advisory role with TVK.

Political analysts are questioning Prashant Kishor's decision to advise Vijay's party, TVK, in Tamil Nadu. This move comes as the Bihar assembly elections approach, leading to speculation about Kishor's strategic focus. Veteran journalist Kanhaiya Bhelari noted that while Kishor might be considering contesting the Bihar elections, it may not be easy for him to leave his primary profession as an election strategist.

Strategic Focus Amidst Political Engagements

Kanhaiya Bhelari explained that whenever Kishor works as an election strategist for any party, he receives payment for it. "In this capacity, if Prashant Kishor has decided to work for actor Vijay's party, TVK, then this is his profession. This will not affect his election campaign in Bihar," he said. Members of Jan Suraj are diligently working in Bihar while Kishor focuses on Tamil Nadu engagements.

Prashant Kishor's involvement with Vijay Kumar's party includes guiding internal teams like general secretary Aadhav Arjuna and strategist Jhon Arokiasamy. The collaboration aims to prepare TVK for the 2026 assembly elections against DMK and BJP. Previous discussions between Kishor and Vijay were postponed due to other commitments but have now resumed with renewed focus.
