Murasoli heavily criticises BJP's "One Nation One Election" agenda

Chennai: BJP's "One Nation One Election" agenda created an uproar in the country. DMK's official daily criticised the policy as "One Destruction One Dishonesty".

Heavy Opposition from 'Murasoli':

It has become a usual thing for the BJP party to bring the One Nation concept into every aspect of the country. Murasoli condemned the agenda in its editorial "It all started with One religion, One Nation, One food, One Culture and it has reached a point of 'One Election' in the country".

In addition, the Daily Newspaper also states that "BJP always has this one solution whatever may be the problem arises in the country. Which is patriotism. In recent times, BJP reigned Gujarat again. In very many states there were many parties other than BJP that took over the rule recently. Will the BJP government in the centre dissolve all these new state governments under this 'One Nation, One Election' agenda? When will the BJP government realise the whopping budget spent on all these elections may get wasted if they conduct re-elections?

To Deploy Governor's rule:

The only way the BJP part knows is to dethrone any state government through its backdoors. Initially, they lure in through the backdoor of the state legislative assembly and then acquire all the state assembly members to dethrone the ruling party of the state. If they dissolve all the newly formed state governments when will they conduct re-election to all those states? Along with the Loksabha Elections? If that was the plan, until the Loksabha elections who will rule the states? The Governors? Will the BJP party take responsibility for all the money spent on these elections?

Recently The Election commission conducted the Gujarat Elections in two phases. If the BJP government couldn't even conduct a state election on a single day how come they will plan the entire country's election in a single phase? Does One Nation One Election policy also constitute the Local Bodies Election?".

Amidst all these controversies, the Election Commission is planning to implement a format for migrated people to vote for their state or constituencies from wherever the state they live. Election Commission organised an all-party suggestions meeting over this format. DMK's Wilson registered the party's notion on this format.

Is it safe to use a Remote Voting Machine?

Member of the Parliament Advocate Wilson states, "The Election commission brought forth the idea of using Remote Voting Machines to help voters who had migrated to a different state. We aren't sure about the possibility of using the machine. There are many queries which require clarification. As a representative from the DMK party, I strongly opposed the idea of a Remote Voting Machine. Firstly, the commission should submit the migrated people's list. The entire data should be registered regarding the migrated people's native state as well as their current residence.

However, there should be a verification process in terms of identity. How come an election officer will assure the identity of the voter when he/she comes to vote? Is that possible? As far of now there were no answers or clarifications from the Election Commission for all these queries.

Until now only the BJP party and the Odisha ruling party submitted their approval to the Election Commission. Tamilnadu Chief Minister MK Stalin writes to the Law commission opposing BJP's 'one nation, one election' policy.

Stalin's Letter:

In his letter, CM Stalin cited, "One Nation One Election is not at all possible. It has more complications. Moreover, this is totally against the Constitution of India. Dissolving a regional party with a majority from the ruling stature is completely illegal".

Three years ago Thol. Thirumavalavan strongly opposed this BJP agenda. Thirumavalavan also criticised the measure as highly dangerous to the country. In the same way, DMK TKS Elangovan showed his opposition during the President's speech itself.

Dissolving the Government:

Elangovan questions, "We all know the history. Loksabha elections happened in 1996, then the government was dissolved. Again there was an election in 1998. Again for the third time in 1999, another election was conducted. If this kind of scenario happens to the Parliament in the future, will all the state assemblies get dissolved to have a re-election?"

Congress party member Peter Alphonse says, "When the union government has the power to determine the ruling period of a state government, there will be no guarantee for any state governments in the country. This will dismantle Indian Democracy".

BJP planning to bring President Rule:

Indian Communist Party's Mutharasan clarifies, "One Nation One Election cannot be possible in reality". Marxist Communist Party's Ramakrishnan seconds Mutharasan's statement and further adds that "This policy of BJP can indirectly aid them to dissolve any government formed by all opposition parties".

VCK MP Ravikumar, "BJP accepted that they cannot capture the 2024 elections. That is the major reason to implement this One Nation One Election policy to destroy the democratic foundation of the country. This policy should be heavily opposed".
