Lok Sabha Elections In Tamil Nadu: When Will Chennai, Coimbatore & Other Districts Vote?
Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on April 19, the Election Commission announced on Saturday.
With 39 Lok Sabha constituencies, Tamil Nadu's polling will be closely monitored, as it stands out among the states where regional powers, rather than the BJP or Congress, will shape the electoral landscape.

In the previous elections in 2019, all 39 seats in Tamil Nadu went to the polls in a single phase on April 18, 2019, and the results were announced on May 23, 2019.
This year, opinion polls have predicted that the DMK will win the highest number of seats. However, the BJP, under the leadership of K Annamalai, is expected to do well.
Several surveys have claimed that the vote percentage for the BJP will increase from over 3 per cent to around 20 per cent. The saffron party will perform better than the AIADMK.
However, the massive increase in vote share will not translate into seats as the polls have indicated that it will win around 1-5 seats.
