Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Udhayanidhi Stalin To Lead DMK's Campaign In Western Tamil Nadu
Udhayanidhi Stalin, a young gun for Tamil Nadu's Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and son of Chief Minister MK Stalin is all set to perform big responsibility in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. According to the reports, the Tamil Nadu ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has decided to give the party's political responsibility to Udhayanidhi Stalin for the Western Tamil Nadu region, a stronghold for the opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
Even though DMK emerged victorious in the last Tamil Nadu assembly elections, the people of western Tamil Nadu had elected 33 members of AIADMK out of 50, which indicates that it is going to be a tough nut to crack for the Udhayanidhi Stalin.

For the unversed, AIADMK chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami's home district Salem is in the western part, which has been allotted to Udhayanidhi to dent in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.
A few weeks ago, a case was filed against Udhayanidhi Stalin in Bihar's Arrah under IPC section 298 for his 2023 anti-Sanatana Dharma statements. Taking cognizance of the matter, a magistrate court summoned Stalin to appear before the court on April 1, 2024.
In 2023, Speaking at a conference, Udhayanidhi Stalin said Sanatana dharma should be "eradicated' from his country as it creates inequality and is against social justice. The DMK leader had also compared the religion with severe diseases like coronavirus, malaria, and dengue, which sparked a huge debate and controversy inviting criticism from the people and political fronts.
It is expected that DMK may face some trouble for Udhaynidhi's previous statements in the upcoming elections, when they will connect with people on ground.
