'What Bro, It Is Wrong Bro': TVK Chief Vijay Mocks DMK-BJP's ‘Staged Drama’ Over Hindi Imposition

Actor and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Thalapathy Vijay took a sharp dig at the DMK and BJP on Sunday, accusing both parties of engaging in a "scripted drama" over the Hindi imposition issue. Speaking at a public event, Vijay criticized the ongoing war of words between the two parties, calling it a manipulative ploy to deceive the people of Tamil Nadu.

Vijay's Speech

"The Union government must allocate funds, and the state has the right to demand them. But instead of addressing real issues, both sides are engaged in a staged drama, blaming each other, manipulating social media, and deceiving the people," Vijay said. He likened their behaviour to that of "LKG-UKG students," accusing them of having a "setting" (prearranged agreement) to fight on social media while pretending to be serious.

"They fight like children, and we are supposed to believe it's real? What nonsense! Our TVK fans, on the other hand, simply enter the trend, drop a comment, and move on. People are not fools-they see through this drama," he added.

Vijay also emphasized his party's respect for all languages but firmly opposed any attempt by the Union government to undermine state autonomy or impose linguistic policies. "On an individual level, anyone can study any language in any school. But if the Union government acts against the principles of federalism, threatens linguistic rights, or undermines educational rights, we will not remain silent," he asserted.

TVK's Rise as a Political Force

Vijay expressed confidence that TVK is emerging as the primary political force in Tamil Nadu, poised to create history in the 2026 Assembly elections. Drawing parallels to the landmark elections of 1967 and 1977, he said, "In 1967, the DMK came to power for the first time, ending the Congress's long rule. In 1977, the AIADMK defeated the DMK, which had been in power for two consecutive terms. Similarly, TVK is set to bring a new era of change in 2026."

He reiterated TVK's commitment to its ideology and its mission to shape the future of Tamil Nadu politics. "Without compromising our party's principles, we are dedicated to bringing change and ensuring a better future for Tamil Nadu," Vijay declared.

Youth and Common People at the Heart of TVK

Addressing criticism that TVK is filled only with young people and individuals from ordinary backgrounds, Vijay dismissed the claims with pride. "What's wrong with that? It was the youth who helped Annadurai form the government in 1967 and MGR in 1977," he said. "They say our workers come from ordinary families. But why shouldn't they? Shouldn't people from humble backgrounds enter politics? Our party exists for the common people-it is not a party for landlords."

Vijay also took a swipe at the current political elite, accusing them of becoming "landlords" themselves. "Once upon a time, only landlords held power. Today, those in power have become landlords. Our mission is to remove these landlords from politics," he said.

Prashant Kishor: TVK Represents a New Hope

Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, made a rare appearance at the TVK anniversary event, voicing strong support for Vijay and his political movement. Kishor, who previously announced his retirement from political consulting, explained why he chose to back TVK.

"Vijay is not just a political leader; he is the new hope for Tamil Nadu. TVK is not just a political party-it is a movement for change," he said.

Kishor clarified that he was not there to strategize for TVK but to support its mission. "Your victory depends on what you and your leader do. Vijay doesn't need my help. TVK represents millions who seek a new political order in Tamil Nadu."

He stated that his return to active political involvement was driven by shared values, ideals, and the vision of bringing dignity, equality, and opportunity to the people of Tamil Nadu.
