Police Encounter In Kanchipuram: Notorious Criminals Shot Dead In Tamil Nadu
Two notorious individuals with criminal records were shot dead in a police encounter close to Kancheepuram's new railway station on Wednesday. The police had been actively pursuing them regarding the murder of another notorious individual named Prabha.
The sequence of events began with the tragic killing of Prabha in a revenge-fueled assault on Tuesday. As authorities delved into the investigation, focusing on the accused, Raghu alias Raguvaran and Aseen emerged as primary suspects. Upon police confrontation, the suspects fiercely retaliated, resulting in their deaths. Both bodies have been transferred to Kancheepuram Government Hospital, as confirmed by Kancheepuram Police Officials.

The encounter unfolded in self-defense as the history sheeters wielded machetes and launched an assault on law enforcement officials. Special Sub Inspector Ramalingam and Constable Sasikumar sustained injuries from the attackers' sickles and are currently receiving medical treatment.
Prabha, alias Saravanan, aged 35 and a resident of Pallavar Medu in the district, had a lengthy criminal record encompassing 40 pending cases, ranging from murder and robbery to drug trafficking and theft. As a habitual offender, Prabha frequently found himself incarcerated, obtaining bail intermittently.
Last week, while en route from Pallavar Medu to attend a kancheepuram court hearing for a robbery case, Prabha encountered a mysterious group in a white car. Despite attempting to flee, Prabha, hindered by recent leg surgery, was unable to escape the assault. The helmeted trio swiftly murdered him in broad daylight before fleeing the scene.
Following the heinous crime, the kancheepuram district police launched a comprehensive search for the perpetrators. Late on Tuesday evening, a tip-off revealed the whereabouts of the two suspects near the new railway station. A specialised police team intervened, but as the suspects aggressively attacked the officers, the police resorted to firing in defense, leading to the suspects' demise, as reported by the authorities.
