Former Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Annamalai Clarifies Land Purchase in Coimbatore, Plans Dairy Farm

Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai addressed recent allegations concerning his land acquisition in Kalapatti, Coimbatore. In a statement released on social media, he clarified the circumstances surrounding the purchase and his future plans for the property.

Annamalai disclosed that he acquired the agricultural land on 12 July 2025. He used personal and family savings, supplemented by a bank loan, to finance the purchase. The registration was completed by his wife, Akila, through a Power of Attorney granted on 10 July.

Investment Plans and Financial Transparency

The former IPS officer intends to develop a dairy farm on the site under the central government's PMEGP (Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme). He assured that this investment would be accurately reflected in his upcoming income tax filing.

Annamalai described the Kalapatti property as his "first and only immovable asset." Additionally, he is working on establishing an investment firm aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs.

Clarification and Future Endeavours

Interestingly, Annamalai's statement was signed "K. Annamalai Ex IPS," omitting any mention of his BJP role. He expressed hope that this explanation would dispel what he referred to as "unnecessary speculation."
