Ex-Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Annamalai Uses Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 Fate To Troll Stalin & DMK
Former Tamil Nadu BJP chief K. Annamalai trolled the DMK by equating its future to Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, which bombed at the box office.
The BJP leader has criticised the Tamil Nadu government over the law and order issue while pointing out a worrying surge in violent crimes, including a series of robberies and murders targeting elderly citizens in farmhouses across the Kongu region.

What Annamalai Said?
Speaking at a protest in Sivagiri on May 5, 2025, Annamalai quipped, "The CM says we'll see DMK 2.0 if they return to power. But just like Indian 2.0, it'll be a flop. That 'grandpa' (referring to Kamal Haasan's character) was different-this 'grandpa' (Stalin) is something else. No matter the version, the outcome is clear. He's grading his own government and dreaming of 2026, but people know the truth."
He urged unity beyond party lines, saying, "Even DMK supporters must admit law and order has collapsed. This isn't about politics-your own families are at risk. Elders living in farmlands are unsafe. We must demand accountability together."
The protest was held following the brutal murder of the elderly couple Ramasamy and Bhakiyammal in Erode's Megaraiyan estate during a robbery on April 29. Annamalai warned that if the killers aren't arrested within two weeks, the BJP will begin an indefinite hunger strike in Sivagiri from May 20.
Annamalai Highlights Pattern
Highlighting a pattern of unchecked violence, he cited recent crimes in Namakkal, Chennimalai, and Palladam, where farmers and seniors were attacked. He blamed delayed police action for eroding public trust.

Sharing alarming data, Annamalai revealed that Tamil Nadu recorded 1,319 sexual assault cases, 4,949 harassment cases, and 16,518 POCSO cases in three years. "This government can't protect its people. They're waiting for a leader who can act decisively," he said.
Demanding a CBI probe into the Kongu region murders, he accused the DMK of prioritizing its image over justice. "Two ministers resigned in a day, 13 face corruption charges-this isn't governance, it's mismanagement," he added.
K Annamalai stepped down as the Tamil Nadu BJP chief and he has been replaced by Nainar Nagendran. Under his leadership, the saffron party is credited of getting visibility in the state dominated by the Dravidian parties.
