DMK government boosting the education system of Tamilnadu
Chennai: The Education Department is working strenuously since the DMK government regained its power after a decade. Tamil Nadu ranks first in enrolment in higher education. This was possible only due to the high efforts of the DMK government as well as the Chief Minister of the State.
DMK government's importance to education:
The DMK government is depositing monthly ₹ 1,000 in the bank accounts of girl students to encourage more girls to pursue and complete higher education without financial constraints. Nearly 1 lakh and 56 thousand students benefited from this scheme. In the next year, 1,04,347 girl students will get benefited through this 'Pudhumai Pen' scheme. Not only in higher education of the state but also CM Stalin's government is providing Breakfast to primary school children from 1st to 5th standard studying in Government schools on all school working days.

This scheme was also launched to commemorate 100 years of Dravidian rule in Tamilnadu. The government is providing healthy millet meals as breakfast in all state government schools. The DMK government states that all these schemes are not freebies but an investment for better social justice in the future. Yet there are ample number of obstacles for a student to complete his/ her education. Many are facing issues in getting Community certificates properly. To find solutions to the grievances of the people CM Stalin involves directly in collecting petitions from the people.
Petitions aren't just papers:
CM Stalin states, "Petitions from people show their trust in the government. So government officials should not consider those petitions as just papers, instead, we should receive them as the livelihood of the people. Every petition must receive a proper solution".

A recent example is Mrs Shyamala. Mrs Shyamala from old washermenpet submitted a petition to rectify the obstacle in getting a community certificate for her granddaughter. She met the CM directly in the assembly after waiting for several years. Her petition was taken into consideration, and the official in charge sent her granddaughter's community certificate to her home within a week.
How did this happen? Mrs Shayamala explains herself, "I'm Shyamala w/o. Dheenadayalan. I am from old washermenpet. I was born and brought up in this same area. I have two sons and the youngest one is hearing impaired. yet he works as a daily wager and gives ₹100 every day. And my eldest son is a physically challenged person. That's why I'm taking care of his two children. Both my grandchildren are studying at the Chennai Corporation school. For our day-to-day needs, I'm using my daily wages.

I'm working really hard to bring up my grandchildren. Both my grandchildren are studying well in their schools. I applied for a community certificate to get proper benefits for my grandchildren's education. After several attempts, I failed to get those certificates from the official. So I decided to meet the CM directly in the State assembly. I submitted my petition to the state assembly. If my grandchildren get their community certificates it would be easy for them to receive scholarships for their education from the government. And I received the certificates in a week".
Mrs Shyamala's granddaughter Maha says, "I'm studying in 9th standard. As my father is physically challenged he couldn't work. He stays at home whereas my mother works in a restaurant as a daily wager. It is highly difficult for her to look after us. That's why my granny is taking care of my brother and me.
I went to the State Assembly along with my grandma to submit our petition. The officials took note of all the details and sent us home with proper guidance. Within two days government official visited my home and inquired about all the necessary details. In a week I received my community certificate".

Mrs Shyamala adds that "When I called the government officials to thank them, they implied that everything was possible only because of our Chief Minister. Initially few people scared me that it would take nearly ₹8,000 to ₹10,000 to get a community certificate. I couldn't spend such a big amount. But never imagined that the government would provide the certificate this much faster. I sincerely express my gratitude to our CM MK Stalin".
Student Maha expressed that her ambition was to become a Lawyer. She wishes to work for society to fight against bribery and corruption. The principle of Social Justice implemented by the DMK government helped a student who wishes to work for that same Social Justice in the future.
