Cyclone Nada coming Tamil Nadu's way, warning issued

The cyclonic storm is currently about 770 Kms off South East Chennai and the system is likely to move West and intensify. Cyclone Nada is expected to cross North Tamil Nadu coast on December 2.

The meteorology department has issued a cyclone warning and heavy rain forecast to Tamil Nadu. Heavy rains are expected to lash parts of Tamil Nadu on December 2 as cyclone NADA is predicted to cross coast of Tamil Nadu.

The cyclonic storm is currently about 770 Kms off South East Chennai and the system is likely to move West and intensify. Cyclone Nada is expected to cross North Tamil Nadu coast on December 2.
"Squally winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph would commence to prevail along and off the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts from December 1. Sea condition would be rough to very rough," the Met department said.

NADA

The Met department said that the landfall is likely between Vedaranyam and Puducherry, close to Cuddalore on the morning of December 2. Heavy rainfall has been forecast in North coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducucherry from tomorrow. The Met department has also predicted moderate rainfall from tonight in Chennai. Chennai, Puducherry and others districts in Tamil Nadu had suffered a deluge after heavy rains around the same time last year.
