Cyclone Michaung: Chennai Super Kings Prays For People's Safety, Request Everyone To Stay Indoors

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the team which received immense love from its yellow army in every edition of the Indian Premier League, on Monday extended poured love back over the people of Chennai who are currently facing a hard time due to heavy downpours. The continuous rain and strong winds in Chennai have disrupted the lives as city is flooded with water.

In a post on the micro-blogging site X (formerly known as Twitter), the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) prayed for the safety and well-being of the people of Chennai and requested everyone to stay inside their houses. "IPL team Sending thoughts of safety and well-being to our Chennai people🙏" reads a post shared by the CSK.

The post showed that the team loves its fans and followers equally, the way they do.

Just like CSK, Mumbai Indians also extended their love to the people of the city calling them a family. "Sending love & strength to Chennai 💙 #OneFamily #ChennaiRains," reads the tweet from Mumbai Indians. The post had a picture of an umbrella in heavy rain and thunderstorms, which means may god safeguard everyone and provide strength at the crucial hour. "Stay Safe Chennai," the post shared by the Mumbai Indians reads.

    According to the reports, the Cyclone Michaung was positioned at 110km east-northeast of Chennai which destroyed many areas of the city and its adjoining districts of Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengelpet.

    The state administration is trying its best to provide every possible help to the people of Chennai. To rescue the stranded after the city flooded, the government ordered the SDRF to run a boat service in several parts of the city. KN Nehru, Municipal administration and water supply minister said, "The city (Chennai) is seeing rains worse than what it saw in 70-80 years. Hence, the measures taken for cyclone mitigation have been caught off-guard."
