CM Stalin’s Protection Core Cell To Incorporate Females For The First Time
The team providing security to the Chief Minister is called 'Core Cell'. Conventionally, this core cell incorporated only male officers, for ages. CM Stalin has broken this convention by recruiting female officers for the first time, a great advancement towards women empowerment which not just Tamil Nadu, India has ever seen.
The brand new Protection Cell comprises 9 women officers, who are working day and night providing security to CM Stalin. Kannagi from Keela Thattaparai village in Thoothukudi district said, "For the first time, women officers are recruited in the CM Security Core Cell, in which I am the Sub Inspector and with me 8 other women police officers are working."

She continued, "Basically our work is to provide security to the Chief Minister wherever he travels including headquarters, CM's house and other places that he visits. Our job is to arrive at a particular place 3 hours before the CM's arrival and give security clearance after checking the proper implementation of safety measures."
Dilsha Begum, a women officer in the Core Cell from Islam background said, "I am very proud to be in the CM Security Core Cell. In fact, I am the first female in our family to have a government job, let alone a police job." Women officers from remote villages in Tamil Nadu have advanced to the most powerful position that is there in Tamil Nadu today.

When the debate of uniform for the women officers surfaced, CM Stalin directed the authorities to provide the same model outfit worn by the male officers. Owing to the CM's order, now the female officers are wearing the safari dress with pride. In the recruitment of female officers in the Core Cell, social justice is achieved from the fact that all recruits came from village backgrounds.

The proof for this is Kousalya from Chinnaganahalli village in Dharmapuri district. She said, "Being the first female police officer in my entire village, I faced a lot of challenges because of the villagers' opinion that a police job is not feasible for women. When my own mother was hesitant about the job, my father encouraged me to pursue the job and gave me confidence."
The first seed for the inclusion of women in the police force was sowed by the former CM of Tamil Nadu, Kalaignar Karunanidhi. His son and the current CM of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin, going one step forward, has now given the responsibility of his own protection itself to women.
Sumathi from Adayapulam village in Tiruvannamalai said, "From the time when I was studying in a government school, my only aim was to become a police officer." Pavithra from Devipattinam village in Ramanathapuram said, "Many people are proudly inquiring to my mother about me, who is seeing CM Stalin on a daily basis. It is a great honour for me to serve in CM Stalin's Core Cell."

Monisha, another officer in the Core Cell came from Veeranakuppam in Krishnagiri district. Many women police constables have come from Krishnagiri district but none of them continued the job after marriage. Monisha said, "My father encouraged me a lot to pursue this job."
Another officer Vidhya from Madukkarai village in Pondicherry said, "I am the first graduate in my big joint family. Also, I am the first person in my family to get a government job." Apart from all the special features, the surprising fact is that all the 9 officers studied in government school.
Proud of the 9 women officers in the Core Cell and the DMK government which made it all possible.
