Chennai Traffic Alert: Road Closure On Velachery Inner Ring Road For 3 Sundays

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police have issued a temporary traffic diversion on Velachery Inner Ring Road to accommodate an event conducted by an English daily.

The diversion will be in place on three consecutive Sundays-August 11, August 18, and August 25, 2024-from 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Diversion Routes:

For Vehicles Coming from Alandur and GST Road:

• Drivers heading towards Vijayanagar or Taramani will need to divert at the Sunshine School Junction, opposite Velachery Inner Ring Road.
• From there, proceed to Kaiveli Junction, take a U-turn, and continue towards the railway overbridge to reach your destination.

For Vehicles Coming from Velachery Vijayanagar or Taramani:

• Drivers traveling towards Velachery Inner Ring Road should pass through Kaiveli Junction.
• Take a U-turn at the junction and head back towards Velachery Inner Ring Road to reach your destination.

The Chennai Traffic Police urge all motorists to follow the diversion routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience during the event hours.

The public is also advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays.
