Chennai: Tamil Nadu Police Nabs 8 Suspects In BSP Chief K Armstrong Killing Case
In a significant development, Tamil Nadu police have apprehended 8 suspects in connection with the murder of BSP state president K Armstrong. Additional Commissioner (North) Asra Garg informed the media that the police acted promptly, forming ten teams to investigate the case. "Tamil Nadu police has secured 8 suspects so far. This is an early investigation, a preliminary investigation. So after some time, a clear and better picture will emerge with more facts and circumstances coming to light," he stated.
The tragic incident occurred on Friday when Armstrong, aged 52, was brutally attacked by a six-member gang near his residence in Perambur. Armstrong had been serving as the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Tamil Nadu chief and had previously held the position of councilor for Chennai Corporation.

Investigation and Motive
When questioned about the motive behind this heinous crime, a senior police official mentioned that there could be "two to three suspicious motives behind the killing, but exact reason will come to light only after the probe is complete and interrogation of the suspects." The investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
According to reports, the assailants arrived on a two-wheeler disguised as food delivery agents. They launched a sudden attack on Armstrong, inflicting severe injuries before fleeing the scene. The victim was immediately rushed to Thousand Lamps Apollo Hospital for urgent medical attention but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries en route.
Security Measures and Evidence Collection
In response to the incident, police have blocked roads near Armstrong's house and the state party office to prevent potential protests. Additionally, investigators have obtained CCTV footage from near Armstrong's residence and are working diligently to identify the suspects involved in this brutal act.
The swift action by Tamil Nadu police highlights their commitment to solving this case and bringing justice for Armstrong. As more details emerge from ongoing investigations and suspect interrogations, a clearer understanding of the motives behind this tragic event will likely surface.
This shocking incident has sent ripples through the community, prompting heightened security measures and an intensified focus on uncovering all aspects of this crime. The authorities remain vigilant as they piece together evidence and work towards ensuring such acts do not recur.
