Chennai-Nagercoil Vande Bharat To Begin On July 11: Know Ticket Price, Timings, Stoppages

Great news for train passengers! The Southern Railway has announced the launch date of Vande Bharat (VB) special trains, set to operate four days a week between Chennai and Nagercoil.

Starting on select dates, the VB special train (number 06067) will depart from Chennai Egmore on eight days (July 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st) in this month. The service will run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, departing at 5:00 am and arriving in Nagercoil at 1:50 pm.

In the reverse direction, the Nagercoil-Chennai Vande Bharat special train (06068) will depart from Nagercoil on the same days at 2:20 pm, reaching Chennai Egmore by 11:00 pm.

Stoppages for VB Special Train

Stoppages During its journey, the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express will make stops at six stations along the route.

• Trichy
• Dindigul
• Madurai
• Kovilpatti
• Nellai

For passengers starting from Madurai, a special train will depart at 5:00 am and reach Chennai. Also, the train traveling from Chennai to Nagercoil will stop at Madurai at 10:37 am.

• Price: Rs 1605 for AC Chair Car
• Price: Rs 3245 for Executive Chair Car

This new service is expected to provide a significant boost to connectivity between Chennai and Nagercoil, offering a convenient and efficient travel option for passengers.

Distance and Travel Time

The Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express will traverse a distance of 742 km in just 8 hours and 50 minutes. Upon its launch, it will become the fastest train on this route, surpassing the travel times of other trains such as the Kanyakumari Express and the Anantapuri Express, which currently take 11 hours and 35 minutes and 11 hours and 50 minutes, respectively, to cover the same distance.
