Chennai, Madurai To Host 2025 FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup?

Tamil Nadu is set to host the 2025 FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup in November-December 2025, The Sportstar reported.

A senior government told the magazine that a letter of intent has been submitted to the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF), which has approved Tamil Nadu as the host. With Hockey India also on board, the event will be organized across two venues: one in Chennai and the other likely in Madurai.

The official noted, "It's early for a formal MOU, but two venues are necessary, as the tournament will feature 24 teams and 72 matches."

Hosting this prestigious event would be a significant achievement for the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) and the Tamil Nadu government. The state previously hosted the Asian Champions Trophy in Chennai in August 2023, where the Indian men's team triumphed, later securing victory at the Asian Games as well.

India received the hosting rights for the tournament for the fourth time since 2013, and for the first time, it will feature 24 teams.
