Chennai Flood Relief Fund: How To Contribute Donations For Tamil Nadu CM Relief Fund?

Chennai is limping back to normalcy after the devastation caused by the recent rains due to Cyclone Michaung.

The situation has not returned to normalcy as the water level has not receded in many areas despite the best efforts by the authorities. The rains have caused severe destruction to properties and the DMK government has sought an interim relief of Rs 5,060 crore from the Centre in connection with the damage caused by Cyclone Michaung.

With a survey underway to assess the total damage, a detailed report will be prepared later and additional funds sought, an official release said on Wednesday.

It said Chief Minister M K Stalin has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday seeking a grant of interim relief of Rs 5,060 crore. In the letter, Stalin has detailed the damage caused by "unprecedented" rains triggered by the cyclone in the northern districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet.

Film stars such as Karthi and Suriya have already announced an initial sum of Rs 10 lakh to aid in relief work.

Even as the Centre is yet to assess the situation and release the fund, people, who want to do their bit to the cause, can contribute to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's
Public Relief Fund.

• Select the purpose of Contribution
• Select whether it is domestic or international

• Select whether you need 80G certificate to get tax exemption.
• Fill the form in the next page and submit.
