CBSE Class 10, 12 Exam Results: Performance Card For Chennai, Bengaluru, Trivandrum

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 results for the 2024-25 academic year today, with the Chennai region achieving a 98.71% pass percentage, securing the fourth position among all regions in the country.

Trivandrum and Vijayawada Lead the Chart

The Trivandrum and Vijayawada regions topped the list with an outstanding 99.79% pass rate, followed closely by Bengaluru at 98.70%. The exams, conducted from February 15 to March 18, saw results being declared alongside the Class 12 outcomes on the same day.

Chennai's Strong Performance

In the Chennai region, a total of 1,18,688 students registered for the exams, out of which 1,18,489 appeared, and 1,16,958 cleared the examination. Girls outperformed boys marginally with a pass percentage of 98.76% compared to 98.66%.

Tamil Nadu Shines with 99.86% Success Rate

Across Tamil Nadu, 1,03,354 students registered for the exams, with 1,03,259 appearing and an impressive 1,03,117 passing. The state recorded an overall pass percentage of 99.86%, with girls achieving 99.90% and boys securing 99.83%.

CBSE Class 12 Results

As far as the CBSE class 12 results are concerned, Chennai is in the third place by securing 97.39%. Vijaywada tops the list at 99.60% followed by Trivandrum with 99.32%.

Other high-performing regions included Bengaluru (95.95%), Delhi West (95.37%), and Chandigarh (91.61%). Meanwhile, mid-range performers such as Bhubaneswar (83.64%) and Guwahati (83.62%) showed steady results. Noida (81.29%) and Prayagraj (79.53%) recorded the lowest pass percentages.
Institutional and Gender-Wise Trends

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) continued their academic dominance with pass rates of 99.29% and 99.05%, respectively. Government schools recorded a 90.48% success rate, while private schools stood at 87.94%.

Girls maintained their lead over boys, with transgender students achieving a remarkable 100% pass a significant improvement from last year's 50%.

PM Modi's Message

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a message to those students who are not happy with their marks saying that their journey is bigger than mark sheets.The message read: "To those who feel slightly dejected at their scores, I want to tell them: one exam can never define you. Your journey is much bigger and your strengths go far beyond the mark sheet. Stay confident, stay curious because great things await. #ExamWarriors."
