Bike Taxi Ride Turns Shocking in Chennai as Driver Rapes 22-Year-Old, Then Drops Her Home

A late-night bike taxi ride in Chennai turned into a horrifying experience for a 22-year-old woman after the driver allegedly raped her before dropping her home.

The incident took place on Monday night, and the accused, identified as Sivakumar, was later taken into custody and presented before a local court. Authorities also seized the motorcycle used during the crime.

Woman Booked Ride to Visit a Friend

According to police sources, the young woman had booked a bike taxi on Monday night to travel to Pakkikaranai to meet a friend. After reaching her destination, she asked the driver to wait so he could take her back home once she was done.

During the return trip in the early hours of Tuesday, Sivakumar allegedly diverted the route to an isolated area, where he reportedly threatened and sexually assaulted the victim. Shockingly, after the assault, he dropped her back home as if nothing had happened.

Victim Reports the Incident

The woman later informed her husband about the traumatic event. Acting on his advice, she lodged a formal complaint with the police. The T-5 Vanagaram Police immediately began an investigation, verifying her statement and collecting evidence.

Police Confirmation and Case Details

Following a detailed inquiry, officials confirmed that the victim's allegations were genuine.

"Upon investigation, the complaint was found to be true. A case was registered, and the accused was identified as Sivakumar," a police statement read.

Police have since registered a case under relevant sections and continue to investigate further developments surrounding the incident.
