Annamalai's First Reaction To Vijay's TVK Victory: 'Let Almighty Be With You'

In a major political development in Tamil Nadu, K Annamalai has responded to the emerging electoral success of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam led by Vijay, calling it a reflection of the people's will and a sign of shifting political dynamics in the state.

Taking to social media, Annamalai welcomed the verdict, stating that he "bows down to the people of Tamil Nadu" and expressed satisfaction that voters had collectively rejected "buying of votes" and "dynastic politics." He described the outcome as a "generational shift in politics," adding that whoever enabled this transformation had done a service to the state.

Congratulating Vijay and his party for what he termed a "spectacular debut," Annamalai wished them success and added, "Let Almighty be with you to do what you intend to do." His remarks come as TVK emerges as a formidable force in its first electoral outing.

According to early trends, TVK is leading in 104 constituencies in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, falling just short of the majority mark of 118. The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is trailing with 73 seats, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is ahead in 57 constituencies.

Vijay himself is leading in both Perambalur and Trichy East constituencies, reinforcing his party's strong debut performance. Political observers note that the trends suggest a major disruption in Tamil Nadu's traditionally bipolar political landscape.

In a surprising turn, several senior leaders of the DMK are trailing in their respective constituencies. Among them is Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, along with key ministers including Durai Murugan, Ma. Subramanian, and K. N. Nehru. Several other ministers are also reported to be trailing after multiple rounds of counting, indicating a challenging electoral scenario for the ruling party.

Annamalai also addressed his party cadre, thanking members of Bharatiya Janata Party Tamil Nadu for their efforts on the ground. He acknowledged the intense nature of the contest, congratulated winning candidates from the National Democratic Alliance, and encouraged those who lost to continue their efforts, expressing optimism about future prospects.

Additionally, he extended his commiserations to Stalin and Seeman for their losses in the election.

As counting continues, the results point toward a potential realignment in Tamil Nadu politics, with TVK poised to play a central role.
