6 Months Jail, 5,000 Fine For Jayaprada For Failing To Pay ESI To Staff
A Chennai court has sentenced six-month imprisonment to actress-turned-politician Jayaprada as part of a case linked to a petition filed by employees of a cinema hall owned by her in Rayapeta.
She has also been fined Rs 5,000. The said movie hall is run by Ram Kumar and Raja Babu, according to a report in Deccan Chronicle.

As the management failed to pay the ESI of the theatre employees, they moved the court. However, Jayaprada has promised to clear the entire amount to her employees while appealing to the court to dismiss the case.
Nonetheless, the advocate representing the Labour Government Insurance Corporation raised an objection to her appeal.
As a result, Jayaprada and three other individuals involved in the case were subsequently handed a six-month prison term. Also, they were also instructed to each pay a fine of Rs 5,000.
