Stock Market Holiday: BSE And NSE Closed For Christmas 2024 – Here's What You Need To Know!

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India will remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in observance of Christmas.

This holiday coincides with other global stock markets, including those in the US, UK, and Europe, which are also shut for the festive season.

Trading Holiday Details

On December 25, trading will not occur in various segments, including stocks, commodity derivatives, currency derivatives, and electronic gold receipts (EGR). This marks the final trading holiday for 2024, with a total of 16 holidays observed by both BSE and NSE this year.

Market Update

On Tuesday, December 24, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 indices were unable to maintain their initial gains, closing lower after a volatile trading session. The Sensex ended at 78,472.87, down by 67.30 points (0.09%), while the Nifty 50 closed at 23,727.65, losing 25.80 points (0.11%).
