Gold prices declined across purity levels on May 5, with 22-carat (916) gold falling ₹400 to ₹1,36,750 per 10 grams and 24-carat (999) gold down ₹440 to ₹1,49,180. The 18-carat rate also eased ₹330 to ₹1,11,890 per 10 grams. For bulk quantities, 24-carat gold dropped ₹4,400 to ₹14,91,800 per 100 grams, while 22-carat declined ₹4,000 to ₹13,67,500 and 18-carat fell ₹3,300 to ₹11,18,900.

Currently, gold is trading about ₹31,000 below its all-time high per 10 grams.

Looking at the yearly trend, gold has risen from ₹95,880 to around ₹1.49 lakh, marking an increase of about ₹53,000 over the past year.

This is also the first time since April 7 that gold prices have fallen below ₹1.50 lakh.

In the domestic commodity market, gold is trading at ₹1,49,394 per 10 grams on MCX this morning. Silver prices have dropped by ₹3,400 and are trading at ₹2,36,000 per kilogram.

According to Oneindia Money, silver prices in India stand at ₹2,55,000 per kilogram today. Silver has become cheaper by ₹10,000 today and 100 grams of white metal now cost Rs. 25,500. Even then, silver remains about ₹1.65 lakh below its all-time high.
