Gold Price City-Wise on May 12: Check Latest 22K, 24K Rates in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, & More
Geopolitical tensions, central bank interest rate decisions, ongoing trade negotiations between the United States and China, and currency fluctuations are all expected to influence gold and silver prices this week.
On 12 May, prices fell below the ₹95,000 mark due to developments in the US-China trade talks.

With the India-Pakistan ceasefire being closely monitored and key domestic data awaited, analysts anticipate that gold prices may hover around the ₹94,000 range, similar to Friday's close.
Jateen Trivedi of LKP Securities noted that while trade optimism and geopolitical risks have lent some support to the market, "heightened volatility is expected as risk sentiment remains unstable."
According to market experts, gold and silver are regarded as safe-haven assets-investments used to safeguard portfolios during times of market volatility.
However, they advise investors to proceed with caution. Over the past year, gold prices have surged by 30 per cent, offering an annualised return of 15 per cent CAGR since 2001. Since 1995, the yellow metal has outperformed inflation by approximately 2-4 per cent.
As of 9:00 am on 12 May, prices opened lower. The MCX gold index stood at ₹94,280 per 10 grams, according to the official website. Meanwhile, MCX silver was trading at ₹96,188 per kilogram.
