A stronger US Dollar has led to a fall in gold prices from record highs (₹1 lakh in retail, including GST).

For Indian investors, one key factor is that April 30 marks Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej, an extremely auspicious and sacred day for the Hindus.

From a market perspective, for investors seeking to safeguard their portfolios against potential economic challenges, gold remains the preferred safe-haven asset.

As of 8 am on April 28, MCX gold prices stood at ₹94,818 per 10 grams, down ₹174 per 10 grams, according to the official website. MCX silver prices also declined by ₹641 per kilogram, to ₹95,800/kg.

Additionally, according to Indian Bullion Association (IBA) data at 8 am on April 28, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹95,060 per 10 grams, and 22-carat gold at ₹87,138 per 10 grams. Silver (999 Fine) was quoted at ₹96,350 per kilogram.
