Gold Price City-Wise On April 11: Check Latest 22K, 24K Rates In Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, & More

Gold and silver prices in India witnessed a sharp rally in Friday's early trade, driven by increased safe-haven demand as global trade tensions-particularly the ongoing U.S.-China trade war-continue to escalate.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold contract opened the day at Rs 92,463 per 10 grams, marking an increase of Rs 430 from the previous session's close of Rs 92,033. During the session, gold prices reached an all-time high of Rs 93,736, and at the time of writing, were trading at Rs 93,010, up by Rs 977 or 1.06%.

Silver prices also saw gains in early trading. Silver futures maturing on May 5 opened at Rs 92,000 per kg, rising Rs 405 from the last close of Rs 91,595. As of the latest update, silver was trading at Rs 92,298, up by Rs 703 or 0.77%. Throughout the session, silver prices fluctuated between a low of Rs 92,000 and a high of Rs 92,588.

Gold Prices in Global Markets

In the international market, gold prices continued their upward momentum. On COMEX, gold futures traded at approximately $3,207.20 per troy ounce, marking the first time futures have breached the $3,200 threshold. Spot gold, as of 10:45 am IST, was trading at around $3,195.83 per ounce.

The rapid rise in bullion prices is largely attributed to growing geopolitical uncertainty and a sharp decline in the U.S. dollar index, which has added pressure to global markets and driven investors toward gold and silver as traditional safe-haven assets.
