Amazon Opens 12-Storey North Bengaluru Campus, Second Largest In Asia With 7,000-Employee Capacity

Amazon inaugurates a new office in North Bengaluru on 23 February 2026, marking its second largest workplace in Asia. The company repeats that India remains a major investment focus. The campus can host over 7,000 employees and is designed to unite technology, ecommerce, operations, payments, seller services and leadership teams.

Samir Kumar, Country Manager Amazon India, says, "India continues to be a long-term priority for Amazon, and Bengaluru has played a central role in our journey here. Over the years, the city has been home to some of our earliest technology and business teams, and today it remains a key hub for innovation and talent," while also thanking Dr. M.B. Patil and highlighting long-term investment in infrastructure, technology and skills.

Amazon Bengaluru campus highlights investment in India

The Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka, Dr. M.B. Patil, attends as chief guest. Dr. M.B. Patil states, "Amazon's continued investment in Bengaluru reflects India's growing role as a global technology and innovation hub. Large-scale campuses like Amazon's new campus create high-quality jobs, strengthen local ecosystem, and support India's digital economy. We welcome investments that build long-term capability and create opportunity for our workforce," underlining the State’s support.

The Amazon Bengaluru campus stands on a five-acre plot in North Bengaluru and covers 1.1 million square feet across 12 floors. It is situated about 15 kilometres from Kempegowda International Airport, offering access for travelling staff and visitors. The office’s layout aims to bring several business units together under one roof for closer collaboration.

With this Bengaluru campus, Amazon deepens its physical presence in India while expanding office capacity for future growth. The development supports high-skilled roles and links global teams with local talent. It also signals continued cooperation between Amazon and Karnataka’s government on digital economy and infrastructure goals.
