Director Dinakar Thoogudeepa has addressed the growing buzz around his brother, Kannada superstar Darshan, and the possibility of a political debut. Speaking after watching Devil, Darshan's latest release, Dinakar made it clear that any major decision-including politics-will rest entirely with the actor's massive fan base.

Dinakar said there has been no political offer so far from any party. He added that Darshan has always placed fans at the centre of his choices, and if the day ever comes for a political step, it will be their opinions and expectations that guide him. "Fans will decide his path. Their voice matters the most," he said.

'Devil Is a Complete Family Entertainer'

Before addressing politics, Dinakar shared his reaction to Devil, calling it a full-fledged family entertainer with strong performances by Darshan in both roles. He said he particularly enjoyed the title character and felt the dual portrayal added depth and energy to the film.

He recalled how, during the release of Sarathi 14 years ago, there was nervousness about public response-something he believes has changed dramatically now. According to him, Darshan's fan base has grown into a powerful force that drives a film's success even before release. "They had already created strong confidence for Devil before it hit theatres," he said.

Dinakar also addressed the growing debate around online ratings. He revealed that Devil's team disabled BookMyShow reviews because negative comments were appearing ahead of the release. He alleged that some individuals pay to manipulate ratings, something he said he experienced during his own film Royal as well.

Despite this, Dinakar appreciated the support the film has received from industry figures. He mentioned that senior actor Shiva Rajkumar and filmmaker Rishab Shetty personally conveyed their wishes for Devil, adding that both regularly support Kannada films across genres.
