Wife Rohini supports Nandan Nilekani's decision to contest polls

Bangalore, Feb 4: With much talks about the UIDAI chairman

contesting for LS polls, his wife Rohini Nilekani says that she is proud of her husband's decision.

Speaking at a philanthropic event after donating a mobile cancer screening unit for women, Rohini said that this Lok Sabha election comes at a critical stage for the country and we need more people with integrity to enter the political arena.

Rohini, a former journalist, said, "My husband is entering politics and I am very proud to support him because this is a critical election for the country and we have to send people of high integrity and people with an inclusive vision. For the country that is very important. I hope this parliament will see many many good people."

She added, "I don't want to comment on other political parties. One thing I will say it's wonderful that more people are willing to enter politics because politics is about the judicious balance of power. The more of us get involved, the better for the country."
