When Will Namma Metro Green Line Connecting Nagasandra And Madavara Launch?
The eagerly awaited Namma Metro service between Nagasandra and Madavara is now ready for operation. This 3.14 km extension of the Green Line is set to open to the public soon, with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) targeting the launch by the end of this month.

To facilitate this, the corporation has reached out to the Urban Development Department to confirm the official launch date. Sources indicate that all construction work is complete and successful tests have been conducted. The Railway Safety Commissioner inspected the line on August 3 and approved commercial operations the following day. BMRCL is now awaiting a confirmed date for the inauguration.
The newly extended section of the Green Line spans 3.7 kilometers and includes stations at Manjunath Nagar, Chikkabidarakallu, and Madavara. Once services commence, it is expected that daily metro ridership will increase by approximately 6,500, totaling around 200,000 passengers each month. BMRCL officials noted that not only residents from Anjanapura and Jindal Nagar but also commuters from Nelamangala are likely to use buses or private vehicles to reach Madavara before continuing their journey on the metro.
Looks like we should stay silent when the streets are full of potholes and one day of rain leads to flooding!!

BMRCL has been in discussions with the Urban Development Department regarding the launch date, while talks with the central government are ongoing to finalize the details. As existing trains will operate on the extended route, passengers will not need to wait for new trains. Officials expressed optimism that services will commence as soon as state government approval is granted, with metro rail operations anticipated to begin on the extended route by the end of October.
