Watch: A Man Dies In Udupi After Falling Into Overflowing Waterfall

A man died in Udupi district in Karnataka after falling into an overflowing waterfall. The incident was captured on camera.

The victim has been identified as Sharath Kumar. He was aged 23.

In the clip shared by news agency PTI, Sharath is seen standing on a rock, enjoying the view of the waterfall while his friend captures the moment on his phone. Unfortunately, Sharath loses his footing while attempting to adjust his position and ends up tumbling and falling into the fierce river below the waterfall.

He quickly vanishes into the rushing stream. It's been reported that Sharath and his friends had travelled to Kollur by car to visit the waterfall, and during their visit, he was apparently creating content for social media, with his friend filming from a distance.

Upon hearing the news, Kollur Police Sub Inspector Jayalakshmi visited the spot. A complaint has been lodged in Kollur police station while the hunt for his body is on. According to reports in the local media, Sharath was self-employed.

Travellers are reportedly banned from visiting the Arashinagundi waterfall due to heavy rains and the two friends had entered the spot from another route.
