Tomorrow School Holiday: Are Schools, Colleges Closed In Bengaluru On Jan 22 For Ayodhya Event?
In anticipation of the 'pran-pratishtha' or consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at the Ayodhya Mandir on January 22nd, several schools and colleges across Karnataka have announced leave, despite the state government not declaring a statewide holiday.
Leading educational institutions, like Mangalore's prominent school and Nitte University in Dakshin Kannada, have proactively given their students the day off. Meanwhile, Justice K.S. Hegde Hospital services affiliated with Nitte University will remain operational.

This decision follows pressure from various organizations and school associations urging the government for a state-wide holiday. Even before that, some private schools have voluntarily declared leave on Monday, January 22nd.
Also, a several private schools has already submitted a request to the Karnataka government to allow them to declare leave in advance.
CM Siddaramaiah reiterated the Karnataka government's position of not declaring a holiday on Monday, despite ongoing demands from BJP and JD(S) leaders urging Karnataka to declare a holiday for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir 'pran pratishtha ceremony'. Addressing media inquiries in Tumakuru today, Siddaramaiah affirmed that the government "will not be declaring a holiday."
