'Strict' Bengaluru Auditor Assaulted By Goons Hired By Upset Coworkers

The Bengaluru Police arrested five persons on Friday for assaulting an auditor employed at a private firm. Two of the arrested people were colleagues of the auditor, and they had reportedly hired the assailants to carry out the attack.

The police took action following the circulation of a video depicting the assault on social media. The video, captured on a car's dash camera, shows the accused men beating the auditor, identified as Suresh, with an iron rod on the ring road near Kalyan Nagar.

According to the police, Suresh is employed as an auditor at a milk product company in Bengaluru, where Umashankar and Vinesh, two of the arrested individuals, also work.

During interrogation, the accused admitted to the assault, claiming that Suresh had exerted excessive pressure on them. They stated that Suresh, who had joined the company a year ago, was a strict auditing officer and had demanded prompt clearance of stock balances from all employees.

Before Suresh's arrival, the accused individuals had been lax and delayed in clearing the balances, according to the police. Suresh had reportedly brought this issue to the attention of the company's seniors and had taken strict action against Umashankar and Vinesh.

Frustrated by Suresh's actions, Umashankar reportedly contacted a former employee who introduced him to Sandeep, another accused. Following Umashankar's instructions, Sandeep allegedly hired several goons from KR Puram who then assaulted Suresh with an iron rod, as per the police.

The Hennur police arrested the accused persons after the video of the assault went viral. Further investigations are ongoing.
