He said, "I have also instructed the Resident Commissioner of Delhi to take charge of the further action. We are closely monitoring the entire incident and are standing by our side to help the victims of the attack."

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed anguish over the "cowardly terror attack," confirming arrangements were being made to repatriate Manjunath's remains and assist other stranded Karnataka tourists.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah cut short his schedule to rush to Srinagar for emergency security consultations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been briefed about the situation and has directed all necessary assistance to victims.

Political leaders across party lines united in condemnation. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge termed it "a blot on humanity," while BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, currently in Kashmir, personally coordinated with local authorities to help injured Kannadigas.

Kharge said: "I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The entire nation is united in fighting the scourge of cross-border terrorism. These dastardly targeted attacks are a blot on humanity. News reports indicate that precious lives have been lost. On behalf of the Congress party, my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured. India's National Security is paramount and we urge the GOI to take corrective measures to ensure the same."

Victim's Family in Trauma

The attack has left Manjunath's wife Pallavi severely traumatized, having witnessed her husband being gunned down. Karnataka officials are providing counseling support while making arrangements to bring her back home along with her husband's remains.

Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya said that he is currently in Kashmir to attend the PAC Meeting. "Have learnt from local authorities here that in the unfortunate terror attack earlier today in Pahalgam, a few people from Karnataka are also injured. LOP Sri @RAshokaBJP spoke to me and requested me coordinate with all local authorities to help our people in need. I have spoken to IG, DIG South Kashmir, DC Anantnag and in constant touch with LG's office to provide all support. Will be meeting with the families soon to offer all help and support. Govt of India and all agencies here are extending every possible help to all affected by the unfortunate attack," he added.
