Seven Killed in Horrific Road Accident on STRR Near Hoskote–Dabaspete

Seven people were killed in a horrific road accident near M. Satyavara on the Hoskote-Dabaspete Satellite Ring Road (STRR) early this morning, triggering chaos along the busy stretch.

The crash involved a truck (canter), two SUV cars and a motorcycle. Six occupants of one SUV and the biker died on the spot, police said. The bodies have been shifted to Hoskote Government Hospital. Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.

How the Accident Happened

According to preliminary information from police, the canter was travelling from Hoskote towards Devanahalli when it first collided with a motorcycle. Soon after, the truck's chassis reportedly broke, causing it to lose control and overturn. The out-of-control vehicle then crashed into an oncoming SUV, leading to a devastating impact.

The SUV was completely mangled in the collision. All six occupants inside the vehicle died instantly. The biker, identified as Gagan, a native of Devanahalli, also succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Police said the car passengers were travelling from Kolar towards Devanahalli. They are believed to be residents of Kothanur in Bengaluru. Two of the deceased car occupants have been identified as Ashwin and Karan Ali, both from Bengaluru. The identities of the remaining victims are being confirmed.

Speed Suspected

Senior police officials indicated that excessive speed may have contributed to the accident. IG Labhoo Ram, who visited the spot, said the incident occurred in the early hours and that initial findings suggest a collision between a two-wheeler and the canter triggered the chain crash.

"We have collected details of three victims so far. Information about the others is being gathered. Families have been informed and investigation is ongoing," he said.

Police and Forensic Teams at Spot

Personnel from the Sulibele police station rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies to a nearby mortuary. A Scene of Crime (SOCO) team inspected the accident site under the supervision of ASP Purushottam to document evidence and assess the sequence of events.

Traffic on the STRR stretch was disrupted for several hours as damaged vehicles were cleared and police carried out spot investigations.

The Satellite Ring Road is a key corridor connecting Hoskote and Dabaspete and often sees heavy vehicle movement during early morning hours.

Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.
