Road Rage Turns Violent In Bengaluru: Woman Chased And Harassed By Group On Two-Wheelers In Koramangala

Bengaluru's Silicon City has seen a surge in road rage incidents, raising concerns about law and order. A recent alarming incident occurred in the Koramangala area, where a young woman was assaulted, sparking outrage over citizen safety.

The chaos began when mischievous youths engaged in reckless driving near the Madiwala underpass, leading to a dispute over indicator usage. The situation escalated as the youths, reportedly on a single bike, pursued a young woman's car from Madiwala to Koramangala's 5th block.

In the video, three persons on a two-wheeler can be seen chasing a woman who is driving and recording the incident. They are seen knocking on the door and attempting to open it while saying something to her. The woman appears worried and panics over her safety.

The suspects, identified as Jagannath and Tejas, confronted the women, forcibly opening their car door. Fearing for their safety, the women accelerated away, but the suspects pursued them, making threats.

Terrified, the victim managed to contact emergency services by dialing 112 while attempting to evade her attackers. In response to the distress call, the police swiftly rushed to the scene to offer assistance. However, by the cops arrived, the perpetrators had already fled the area. Despite their quick escape, the woman's video footage was crucial in identifying two of the assailants as Jagannath and Tejas. As a result, all three individuals were promptly arrested by the Madiwala police.

South East Police DCP CK Baba appreciated the women for being alert and calling the police for help in the emergency. Taking to X, he responded to the incident by confirming that an FIR had been lodged and the three accused persons had been arrested. He emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents promptly to ensure a swift response from the authorities. DCP Baba also urged citizens to adhere to road traffic rules to enhance road safety for everyone.

"It's imperative for citizens to report such incidents promptly to the police through 112 for swift response and necessary action. Additionally, let's all commit to obeying road traffic rules to ensure the safety of everyone on the road," he added further.
