Food delivery giant Swiggy has reportedly blacklisted a delivery agent following disturbing allegations of sexual harassment by a 24-year-old Bengaluru man. The man took to Reddit to share his ordeal, revealing that Swiggy took strict action after his complaint.

According to the customer, the incident occurred when he booked Swiggy's Genie service to send keys to his flatmate. While handing over the package, the delivery agent allegedly made an inappropriate sexual remark, asking, "Can I suck your c*?"** This left the man stunned and deeply uncomfortable.

Shocked by the remark, he immediately took the package back and later confided in his friends, who advised him to be cautious. Sharing his distress online, he wrote, "This is proper harassment, and no, this should never be taken as a compliment."

Swiggy's Response

The man initially faced frustration while reporting the incident, as Swiggy allegedly tried to shift blame by stating that the delivery partner was from Rapido, with whom they have a partnership. However, after persistent complaints, Swiggy arranged for another rider to complete the delivery and later apologized for the experience.

Determined to see action taken, the man demanded stricter measures against the delivery agent. Swiggy's customer support assured him that the issue was being addressed seriously.

Delivery Agent Blacklisted

Providing an update, the man later confirmed that Swiggy had blacklisted the delivery agent from both Swiggy and Rapido platforms. Additionally, Swiggy stated that the initial call operator handling his complaint was undergoing retraining to better manage such cases in the future.

Swiggy also reaffirmed its commitment to improving its customer support team's response to sensitive complaints, ensuring stricter protocols and better training in handling harassment-related cases.
