Prestige Group Bengaluru Flyover Gets BBMP Nod: 1.5-km Connecting Bellandur to Ease ORR Traffic Woes
The Prestige Group Bengaluru flyover connecting Bellandur's upcoming Beta Tech Park to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) has received official clearance from the BBMP. The new 1.5-km flyover is expected to bring relief to commuters using Old Airport Road and the busy Kariyammana Agrahara stretch.
The Prestige Group, which is building the tech park, will also fund the flyover construction. In return, the BBMP has given permission to build the structure over a stormwater drain near the area. However, the flyover will be open to the public-not just tech park users.

What the Project Includes
A new 1.5-km elevated flyover connecting Beta Tech Park to ORR
A 40-foot-wide connecting road linking the flyover to Sakra Hospital Road
Widening of Kariyammana Agrahara Road
Public access, including pedestrian paths and lighting
This will reduce travel time in the area and ease congestion at Bellandur and surrounding junctions. Currently, the area sees high traffic during peak hours, especially with growing office space and residential development.
BBMP's Conditions
The BBMP, while approving the flyover, has asked the Prestige Group to follow all civic guidelines. The structure must have footpaths, lighting, and clear access for both vehicles and pedestrians. Officials also clarified that the flyover should not be restricted to tech park employees.
A BBMP official said, "Prestige will take care of the full cost. In return, they're improving public roads. This is being done to ease local traffic and help everyone using that stretch."
Construction Timeline and Next Steps
The project still needs a few technical approvals before construction can begin. The road plan avoids any major land acquisition. Once work starts, the project will be monitored for traffic diversions and local access.
The Prestige Group will also manage the road widening around the area, which residents have been asking for due to daily jams.
According to officials, the flyover could benefit thousands of daily commuters and workers heading to offices along ORR. With the tech park expecting around 5,000 employees, smoother entry and exit routes will help prevent traffic buildup at junctions like Bellandur Gate and Devarabeesanahalli.
The flyover also shortens the route to Sakra Hospital Road by nearly 2.5 km.
