Premeditated Murder? Boyfriend Ordered Rope To Strangle Vlogger In Bengaluru Apartment

Police have ramped up efforts to locate Aarav Hanoy, a 21-year-old Kerala native, suspected of murdering his girlfriend, 19-year-old vlogger Maya Gogoi Deka, in a service apartment in Indiranagar, Bengaluru. Originally from Assam, Maya was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves across social media.

Maya and Aarav checked into the service apartment at Hotel Royal Living, opposite Double Road Park in Indiranagar's 1st Stage, on Saturday, November 23 at 12:28 pm. Aarav, employed as a student counseling executive at an educational institution in HSR Layout, left the premises on the morning of the incident at 8:19 am.

The couple appeared normal to staff at the time. However, suspicions arose when housekeeping staff noticed a foul smell emanating from the room on Tuesday morning. Using a spare key, they discovered Maya's lifeless body on the bed.

Investigators revealed that Maya suffered multiple stab injuries and a head wound, with a deep stab to the chest being identified as the likely cause of death. According to police, Aarav allegedly stayed in the apartment with her body until early Monday morning before fleeing.

Evidence points to a meticulously planned crime. Aarav is said to have rented the apartment with the intent to kill. Police also uncovered that he had ordered a nylon rope online, which he used to strangle Maya before stabbing her.

According to reports, Aarav and Maya had known each other for the past six months, having worked together at the same company.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-East) D Devaraja stated that the murder appears to have been premeditated. Investigators discovered that Aarav had ordered a nylon rope online and brought a knife to the apartment, both of which were allegedly used in the crime.

Karnataka Police, with assistance from their Kerala counterparts, have already searched Aarav's family home in Thottada, Kannur, and are now planning to inspect a relative's residence in Vattakulam.

Maya was a popular vlogger who captivated her audience with content about fashion, food, and her daily life. Her untimely death has left fans heartbroken and raised questions about the tragic circumstances surrounding her relationship with Aarav.
