Prathima Murder Case: 3 Special Teams Deployed To Track Down Culprits

A day after the tragic discovery of the lifeless body of Prathima KS, a Karnataka Government officer in the Mines and Geology Department, at her residence in Doddakallasandra, the police have sprung into action. They have formed three specialised teams and initiated a manhunt to arrest the Culprits of this heinous crime. Prathima met her demise through strangulation, with her throat subsequently being slashed while she was at home on Saturday, as confirmed by the Subramanyapura Police.

The scene was inspected by senior police officers who provided guidance to the investigative teams. An FIR has been filed at Subramanyapura Police Station.

Prathima KS

Regarding the timing of the tragic event, Prathima KS, a senior geologist in the Mines and Geology Department stationed at Visvesvaraya Towers near Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, was present at her office until 6:30 pm on Saturday. Afterward, her driver dropped her at her residence.

On the evening of the same day, Prathima's brother, Prathish, who works as a contractor in Bengaluru, attempted to reach her to remind her about a wedding they were slated to attend on Sunday. However, his calls went unanswered. Alarmed, he tried to contact her again on Sunday morning, but she remained unresponsive. Fearing the worst, he alerted their neighbors, who proceeded to check on her. Tragically, when they reached the first floor of her independent house, they discovered Prathima lying lifeless in a pool of blood. Prathish was informed and promptly summoned the police to the scene.

The police's initial investigations revealed that Prathima had been strangled prior to her throat being slit, and no items of value were reported missing from her residence.

As part of their efforts to solve the case, the police have formed three dedicated teams and are believed to have acquired leads in pursuit of the culprits. They have launched a manhunt to bring those responsible to justice.

The absence of signs of forced entry into the house suggests that the assailant(s) may have been acquainted with Prathima. It is suspected that this may have been a meticulously planned murder, with the perpetrator(s) well-aware of the victim's solitary presence at home and her routine. The police are scrutinizing CCTV footage in the vicinity to gather further information about the perpetrators.

Prathima, survived by her husband and 12-year-old son residing in Thrithahalli, Shivamogga district, hailed from the same taluk. After completing her MSC in Shivamogga, she embarked on her career with the Mines and Geology Department. She had worked in Ramanagara and Bengaluru Rural and was currently assigned to the Bengaluru Urban unit. Her responsibilities involved conducting raids to combat illegal mining activities.

Colleagues describe Prathima as a dynamic officer who had no known adversaries. The police are actively pursuing all possible leads and angles in their investigation.
